SLT is an outpatient procedure performed at the slit lamp, so it is similar to a normal glaucoma eye examination. You sit in a chair as usual, the doctor puts in anaesthetic eye drops to numb the eye, and a contact lens is used to steady the eye. This is a similar to having your eye pressure checke, ie you will not feel any discomfort but you will be aware of a light. The procedure itself takes less than 5 minutes. |
